Carpet and Hard Surface Products Made Especially for the Hospitality Environment

BDNY 2018 is upon us and we are excited to showcase our latest collections designed especially for the hospitality market. Our hospitality flooring solutions feature innovative hard surfaces and carpet styles designed to inspire customers to create floors that are relevant for today’s hospitality experiences. If you’re headed to the show, be sure to add us to your show planner and stop by space 1150 to explore the collections. Not attending BDNY? Below are some of our favorites that will be at the show.

It doesn’t matter where you are, there’s always a place to Imagine Durkan.

Commercial flooring

Lineate is one of our most exciting and newest hard surface collections. This ERT (enhanced resilient tile) collection from Mohawk Group is inspired by two of today’s hottest trends in surface visuals: ombré/gradient and striated textile looks. Looking for modern and sophisticated? Lineate offers cool and warm neutrals, on-trend color pops and a linear texture. Across each plank, the color ebbs and flows to give the illusion of depth on a flat surface. What’s more is that Lineate is a loose lay construction, which allows for quick installation and immediate occupancy.  Perfect for the hospitality environment, its inherent acoustical inner layer construction eliminates the need for underlayment, reducing the cost and installation time.

Commercial Carpet

Introducing the Lichen Collection. We’ve put a lot of thought into this collection. This is a new modular plank carpet system resulting from innovations that merge leading concepts in biophilic design and sustainability. In fact, it’s the first flooring product to achieve the International Living Future Institute’s Living Product Challenge Petal Certification. Designed by Jason F. McLennan, the founder of the Living Product Challenge, in collaboration with Mohawk Group and his team at McLennan Design, Lichen is inspired by the idea of “Nature’s Carpet.”

The design team looked at natural assemblages of rich multi-hued, multi-textured lichens from extreme climates as the foundation for the collection. The anchor of the collection is a large-scale field of lichen “blooms” that change in shape and form by colorway. Other patterns include a transition style that has less bloom as well as a style that is solely textured ground. The styles can be used together in a wide range of hospitality environments as a system, or separately, depending on the desired configuration of texture and color.

And, even better…the Lichen Collection is on the path to give more resources back to the environment than it uses during its entire life cycle.

How about that for inspiration?

Our design team looks everywhere for inspiration. Goonj is the Hindi word for Echo — echoes from our past merging subtly into the present. The growing need to reconnect with our heritage to fuel evolving trends is constant. Patterns for this collection were inspired by floral elements from the William Morris era. Playing with traditional motifs appearing and disappearing through various texture layers is the key driver to adding visual interest. And, to make this all come alive is our proprietary Definity technology, developed specifically for hospitality environments. Our Definity technology helps emphasize these layers of design through different levels in carpet while simulating the look of being handcrafted.

We hope to see you at the show! Be sure and stop by space 1150 or reach out to one of our Account Executives to see the latest from Durkan!
